JCoSS Shavuot
Welcome to the JCoSS Shavuot page!
For traditional communities, Shavuot takes place from 28th-30th May 2020. For progressive communities and those in Israel, Shavuot takes place from 28th-29th May 2020.

Shavuot is one of the pilgrim/harvest festivals mandated in the Torah and Jews would traditionally take their offerings to the Temple at this time. Some Jews celebrate Shavuot as the time when the Torah was given on Mount Sinai.

Shavuot is often marked with all-night study and eating cheescake!
